Sacramental Preparation

Children, preparing for the sacraments, and their families are expected to be registered, active members of Holy Name of Jesus Parish.
First Communion (2nd Grade)
Preparation is a two year process beginning from First Grade.
First Reconciliation, “Confession” (2nd Grade)
Children are prepared to celebrate this sacrament before they receive their First Communion. Parents are expected to assist in the sacramental preparation of their children.
Confirmation Preparation – 3 year program
It is offered on the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade level. Teens are expected to have participated regularly in a school or parish religious education program at least a full year before a sacrament year and/or be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge and understanding of Catholic beliefs, traditions and practices. Confirmation is usually in the 8th grade.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Children in Catechetical Age
It is a process for children/youth from ages 7-16, who are not yet baptized; or who have been baptized in another Christian tradition but wish to become Catholic; and already have been baptized but have not received their First Communion
Classes are on Mondays from 7:00 – 8:30 pm, Pastoral center.
