My name is Valerie Toy, and I have been a dedicated member of Holy Name of Jesus Parish for over 45 years, actively participating in and leading a variety of school and church activities. All five of my children attended Holy Name School, where they, too, were deeply involved in parish life.
More than 20 years ago, I was drawn to the Grief Ministry after attending a class on understanding grief and healing. I came to realize how profoundly loss can affect individuals and families, leaving them feeling afraid, lost, and alone. During these times of sorrow, having someone to listen, support, and walk alongside you can make all the difference.
As the leader of the Grief & Consolation Ministry, my hope is that our ministry continues to be a compassionate presence for parishioners facing grief—offering understanding, encouragement, and a space to heal. We are here to help you find the strength and confidence to move forward while honoring the love and memories of those who have passed.

The Homebound Ministry at Holy Name of Jesus Parish extends the love and care of the Church to those who are unable to attend Mass due to illness, age, or mobility challenges.
Through visits to private homes, hospitals, or nursing facilities, our trained Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion bring the Eucharist, offer prayers, and provide spiritual companionship to our homebound parishioners—ensuring they remain connected to the life and grace of the Church.
This ministry is a quiet yet powerful expression of Christ’s presence and the community’s ongoing care for its most vulnerable members.
If you or a loved one would like to receive a visit from a Homebound Minister, please contact the Parish Office:
HOLY NAME OF JESUS
A Sweet Tradition of Fellowship
You’re invited to join us every Sunday after 9:30 AM Mass for coffee, donuts, and great company in the St. Francis Garden, located just outside the church doors on the 39th Avenue side.
This weekly tradition, generously hosted by our school families and parish ministries, is a wonderful time to catch up with friends, meet new faces, and enjoy the simple joy of being together as a parish family.
Whether you're coming with children, on your own, or with loved ones, all are welcome to linger a little longer, share a smile, and be part of the vibrant spirit of Holy Name.
Come for the coffee—stay for the community!
