Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are called to serve the Body of Christ with humility and devotion. At Holy Name of Jesus Parish, they assist the presider in the reverent distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass, helping to ensure that all the faithful may fully participate in the Eucharist.
This ministry is a grace-filled opportunity to deepen one’s own faith while serving the spiritual needs of the community.
Some ministers also extend this service beyond the church walls by bringing the Eucharist to the sick and homebound, offering comfort and connection to those unable to attend Mass.
Lectors are entrusted with the sacred responsibility of proclaiming the Word of God during the liturgy. Through their prayerful preparation and clear delivery, they help bring Scripture to life and draw the assembly more deeply into the mystery of faith.
This ministry is both a gift and a calling—one that builds up the community by making God’s Word present and alive among us. Lectors should have strong reading skills, a clear and steady voice, and a willingness to grow in the art of proclamation.
Volunteer Greeters and Ushers are the friendly and welcoming faces who help set the tone for our liturgical celebrations at Holy Name of Jesus Parish.
With warmth and attentiveness, they greet parishioners and visitors as they arrive, offer missals or worship aids, and provide assistance as needed throughout the liturgy. Their presence helps foster a sense of hospitality and belonging for all who come to worship.
During Mass, Greeters/Ushers assist with the Presentation of the Gifts by inviting or assigning families to participate. They also facilitate the offertory collection and help guide the congregation as needed. At the conclusion of Mass, they distribute bulletins and offer a kind farewell as people depart.
This ministry is a beautiful expression of service, helping to ensure that each liturgy is welcoming, organized, and prayerful.
The Sacristan Ministry at Holy Name of Jesus Parish plays a vital role in the reverent and smooth celebration of the liturgy. Sacristans serve quietly and faithfully behind the scenes, preparing the sacred vessels, altar, and all necessary items for Mass and other liturgical celebrations.
Their work ensures that the church is ready to receive the faithful and that every detail of the liturgy is carried out with care and reverence. This ministry is deeply rooted in tradition and is an important expression of service to God and the Church.
At Holy Name, sacristans are a dedicated team of parishioners, many of whom also serve in other ministries. They support the pastoral and liturgical life of the parish through preparation, attention to detail, and a spirit of prayerful service.
The Music Ministry at Holy Name of Jesus Parish plays a vital role in lifting hearts and voices in worship, enriching our liturgies through sacred and inspiring music.
Our Parish Choir is a year-round volunteer ensemble that leads the music at the 11:30 AM Sunday Mass each week. Under the direction of Dina Reyes, our Choir Director and pianist, the choir brings together parishioners of all ages and backgrounds to offer a prayerful blend of contemporary, classical, and baroque repertoire.
Regular rehearsals take place on Sundays at 12:30 PM, immediately following the 11:30 AM Mass. The choir is a collaborative and welcoming group that blends musicianship with ministry, offering members a meaningful way to serve God and the parish through song.
If you have a love for music and a desire to serve through this joyful ministry, we invite you to connect with us.
