The Sacrament of Baptism, the first of the three sacraments of initiation, is also the first of the seven sacraments in the Roman Catholic Church. It removes the guilt and effects of Original Sin and incorporates the baptized into the Church, the Mystical Body of Christ on earth.
Baptismal preparation is required for those participating in the sacrament. We offer these sessions, for the parents and godparents, every second Saturday of the month. Arrangements can be made by contacting Terrence Flaherty at flahertyterrence@gmx.com. Godparents may attend a separate class in their own location if needed, however, proof of attending the class such as a note of attendance or certificate will be required. If anyone has attended a preparation class within the past 2-3 years with proof of attendance, that is acceptable.
The Baptism information form and a Parish Registration form (if needed) will be given out at the Preparation class and returned to the instructor or the Parish Office at a later date. The time of the Baptism can then be scheduled with the Priest who will be performing the ceremony. If needed, you can contact the office to receive new forms.
Baptisms are scheduled on Saturday mornings after the morning mass (10:00am) or Sunday mornings, after the last Mass (12:45pm). Other arrangements can be made with the Pastor’s approval for alternate days and times.
