Consists of people from the parish who are concerned with the families who have lost a loved one. They offer sympathy and assurance of prayers to the members of the family by sending the sympathy cards. They will be present in the church for the funeral Mass.

My name is Valerie Toy
I have been an active parishioner of Holy Name Parish for roughly 45 years, participating and leading in a variety of school and church activities. All five of my children attended Holy Name School and they too participated in a variety of school/church activities.
I became attracted to the Grief Ministry more than 20 years ago, when I attended a class to learn more about grieving. I learned about the importance of comforting people when they have lost their loved ones; it is during this grieving period when people most feel afraid, lost, and alone and are in despair. It is my hope as the leader of the Grief Ministry that the Ministry continues to be the listening ear for our parishioners facing grief—feeling their sorrow, giving them encouragement and support, and providing them with the confidence and courage to stand on their own two feet again.
If you would like to learn more about the Ministry, please contact me.
