Welcome to Holy Name of Jesus Parish and the Ministry of Sacristan! The Sacristan provides an important and essential service to the community by preparing all the things that are necessary for our liturgical celebrations. It is a “behind the scenes” ministry and the reward often comes in merely seeing a Eucharistic Celebration feed the souls of those who attend the Holy Mass. In Holy Name of Jesus Parish, the Ministry of Sacristan is composed of a team of devoted parishioners who are active in other ministries as well.

Individuals interested to become sacristans are encouraged to contact one of the Sacristans listed above. The candidate will be briefed on the responsibilities of a sacristan. After a screening with our Pastoral Vicar, Fr. Simon Jin, the candidate who wishes to serve in this ministry will be referred to the Pastor, Rev. Fr. Arnold Zamora, for further orientation.
The only requirements for those who wish to serve as sacristan are reliability, dependability, punctuality and honesty, and a deep desire to serve God’s church. Candidates must also be able to lift and carry 15 lbs. and climb up and down the stairs. The sacristans communicate through email frequently on issues and concerns. Also, a meeting might occasionally be called to discuss specific concerns and preparations for special events in the church.
Come join a time-honored ministry in the Catholic Church! Talk to one of our sacristans for more information.
